Meet Mark

Autism is a mysterious disorder that is not very well understood. The cause is not exactly known for sure, but there is speculation that the MMR vaccine may be one cause.

I only know what I have learned from my son and the research I have done. Many of the sites below were very helpful to me.

I cannot say for sure what causes Autism, as I am no expert. All I know for sure is that something most definitely happened to my son Mark after he was given his MMR vaccine. Mark was different when he was born on May 25th, 1988, but not very noticeably. He was a little slower than my other children had been, but nothing serious. His vocabulary at 18 months was, Mama, Dada, bubbles, ball, love you, cookie, balloon, water, he also tried to say the names of his siblings. After receiving his MMR he stopped talking all together, and started fixating on moving objects, and flailing his arms and legs. He also started having "breath holding spells". At least that is what the doctors told us. Some said he was throwing a fit. Sure a fit that ended with Mark rolling his eyes in his head, convulsing, and then passing out! I now believe that Mark was having seizures and the doctors were just not seeing it. Mark was diagnosed with epileptic seizures in 1997.
